Katie Kimberley is a media professional - building on a foundational decade in journalism followed by years of high-level media and communications advice to a NSW Premier and across government, corporate and not for profits.
Katie's career began as a journalist in newspapers and television, before shifting to radio and working for one of the country's leading commercial news networks as a newsreader, reporter and laterally as State Political Reporter in the NSW Press Gallery. During her time in journalism, she led coverage around significant news and current events including the 2010 Federal Election, the 2015 NSW Election, and multiple high profile ICAC inquiries.
In 2015, she joined the NSW Government as a media advisor to the NSW Treasurer, and prepared strategy and communications for the 2016 NSW Budget and other areas of significant government reform including the ‘poles and wires’ transaction.
When the Treasurer was elevated to NSW Premier, Katie assumed a Senior Media role, and she was tasked with the development of media strategies to target particular demographics ahead of the 2019 election.
Katie was engaged by Optus in 2022 to assist with positive PR strategies across the portfolios of television and content, including the Optus Sport broadcast of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, and regional infrastructure.
Prior to joining H/Advisors, Katie worked as the Head of Communications for Commercial Radio and Audio where she focused on raising awareness of the organisation and its policy platform, as well as leading the media coverage around the prestigious Australian Commercial radio and Audio Awards.
