When regional NSW NFP, Essential Employment and Training (EET) decided to reorient its business to return to a 30 year core legacy - it was important to convey a complex set of messages to families and clients, staff, school career counsellors and potential partners.
At the core of the Board’s reasoning was the return to a fundamental commitment that disability should not prevent a young person from reaching their full potential or from enjoying the dignity and independence of active employment. The reorientation of the business was about renewal, specialist focus and long-term sustainability.
Over recent decades, EET had extended its offer from School Leavers Employment Supports (SLES) into Disability Employment Services (DES) – and whilst a natural connection between the two programs, the move had spread resources thinly and considerably extended operating costs.
H/Advisors APA was engaged to format the best narrative and communicate openly and honestly with key stakeholders. Whilst no changes in permanent staffing levels, many casual positions ended, and a number of shopfronts in regional NSW were closed. Further, the new operational model involved partnering with four and five-star DES providers in new centres to offer an integrated service.
H/Advisors APA assisted with the narrative and collateral to communicate the repositioning of EET and to successfully take a significant regional not-for-profit closer to its ambition of developing a national footprint.
